Telegram & bots¶
The Telegram group "L'Atelier FLC" is the nervous system of the space. It's a forum-style group organised into topics — post in the right one and mute the ones you don't care about (you can mute individual topics).
Topics¶
| Topic | What goes there |
|---|---|
| General chat | Everything that fits nowhere else |
| 3d printing | Print announcements ("busy until 14:30"), settings help, filament |
| Server, networking, automation | Infrastructure, self-hosting, AI/LLM talk |
| Hackerspace upgrades | Furniture, lighting, shelves, space improvements |
| Check this out! | Links and discoveries worth sharing |
| To buy | Shopping list for shared consumables and parts |
| Project ideas 💡 | Pitches looking for collaborators |
| To do | Shared task list |
| 🤖 (Bots) | Bot commands and bot replies — keep bot traffic here |
Individual projects sometimes get their own topic. There's also meant to be a topic for noting when you borrow something — use it.
The bots¶
| Bot | Command | Does |
|---|---|---|
| Open the door! | /open@OpenTheDoorOfLatelierBot |
Releases the front door strike for a few seconds and logs who opened it |
| Printer status | /getstatusofthe3dprinter@StatusOf3DPrinterOfLatelierBot |
Reports whether the 3D printer is idle or busy, % done, time remaining |
Bot etiquette: run commands in the 🤖 topic so notifications don't flood everyone, and if you build a new bot, make it reply there too. Building more bots is encouraged — both of the above are member projects.
SENTINEL/86¶
You may see formal, slightly passive-aggressive "facility notices" in the group signed SENTINEL/86. It's an experimental AI facility monitor — a work-in-progress side project that's vibe-coded, not reliable, and may or may not ever be finished. Don't depend on it for anything; enjoy the notices when they appear.
Email¶
The space has a shared mailbox: latelier@atomicmail.io — useful for sending yourself STL files or sharing tutorials. There's also a shared Bitwarden account for space credentials; ask Maxime.
