Where to get parts, materials, and fabrication services — online and around Bansko. Additions welcome; this page works best as a living directory.

Where people order

  • Temu — cheap electronics, dongles, small tools. Slow shipping.
  • eMag — faster, good for filament and bulkier items.
  • 3dpro.bg — good Bulgarian filament supplier: fast delivery, wide selection.
  • OLX / Facebook Marketplace — used furniture, appliances, kitchens.
  • Moderator (Bansko) — hardware, in person, today.
  • Taobao via China — David goes to China sometimes, buys stuff off Taobao, and brings it back in a suitcase. The electronics gear (and the project kits) came like that.

Local shops & materials

Place What
Moderator (Bansko) The big hardware shop — tools, fixings, cable, kitchen worktops. Default first stop.
Lidl (Bansko) Parkside own-brand tools — quality is okay and the price is good.
Mr Bricolage (Blagoevgrad) Wider selection than Moderator. Power tools are better value there, but everything else is probably more expensive.
Sawmill next to FLC Right next door; worth getting to know — though there's a language gap (Bulgarian only). Default length is 4 m, and minimum thickness is about 3 cm.
Wood yard near Moderator Cut-to-order beams and battens.
Razlog wood & board places Often cheaper for beams; boards and plywood in large formats — plan transport, they don't fit in a car. Don't strap a giant board to the roof and hold it with your fingers; this has been tried and fined.

Place What
KS METAL EOOD (near Banya) CNC and metal production.
Telephone factory (Bansko) Electronics manufacturing — but they really want bigger batches.
Carpentry workshop on our street Woodwork; there's also a metalworking guy nearby (lathe, mill).
CNC / laser cutting (Razlog) Shops that cut from your file — ask in the group for current recommendations.
Large-format printing Print shops in Razlog centre do big photo prints; "Olimp" (Razlog) prints bigger still; also a place in Bansko near the new cinema.
